Richard Michaud is a trial attorney who practices civil and criminal litigation in state and federal courts including the district, superior, and appellate courts as well as civil litigation in the Land Court. His practice includes general business litigation, real property and title claims, tax abatements, brokerage disputes and employment law. Mr. Michaud has significant experience in criminal law as a former Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Division of the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office prosecuting white collar crimes and homicides, and as a criminal defense lawyer with a Massachusetts firm before joining Bernkopf Goodman in 1981. Mr. Michaud has tried numerous jury cases, has substantial appellate court experience, and is a frequent participant in the resolution of cases through mediation. Recently, Mr. Michaud obtained a substantial jury verdict in Suffolk Superior Court in favor of a real estate brokerage firm, successfully represented a national title company in a lengthy arbitration proceeding involving a title dispute with a golf course owner, and on behalf of a securities firm and its broker, favorably resolved through mediation an investor’s claim filed in an arbitration proceeding with the Financial Industry Regulation Authority.
